2025 VEHICLE APPLICATIONS

Thank you for your interest in taking part as a stallholder at Spennymoor Gala. We are looking forward to a brilliant day that is fun and safe for all. However, due to insurance criteria, we have identified below some points that must be adhered to and further information which you may find helpful before and during the event.

Arrival Point

Barnfield Road, Spennymoor DL16 6ND (Enter behind St Andrews Church). Following security check, make your way to ZONES 3 to 9.

Check-In

Vehicles 11.15AM – 11.45AM
Please do not arrive before 11.15AM. All vehicles must be in place by 11.45AM. Any vehicles that arrive after that time will not be permitted past the road closure point without exception.

Toilets & Changing Facilities
St Andrews Church Hall will be open for all Parade entrants.

The Route
The route from the Parade starting point at the bottom of Barnfield Road is 0.6miles/1km leading through Cheapside, High Street and onto Carr Lane entering Jubilee Park. Upon Arrival at Jubilee Park all vehicles will be directed through a sterile area to the parking lineup where they will be required to remain until 4.30PM. You can then enjoy the live bands, funfair, street entertainment and much more throughout the day.

Vehicle Rules
1.All vehicles must carry appropriate insurance for the vehicle
2.The vehicle must be in a legal and roadworthy condition
3.Be aware of spectators trying to cut across the procession ahead of them and crowding to the side of the road.
4.Be vigilant for unsupervised children and be prepared to break if it is necessary and stop if unsafe to proceed.
5.The driver must follow instructions given by Parade Marshals and the Safety Officer.
6.A consistent slow pace is aimed for following the pedestrians with a good safe gap between. 4 MPH is a max.
7.If a vehicle in front stops, please also stop, keeping at least 5 m between you and the vehicle in front.
8.keep a safe distance of 5 m from the vehicle/pedestrians in front at all times.
9.The driver must keep up with the parade and not allow significant gaps to build up between vehicles and other parade entrants
10.Sweet throwing is strictly prohibited from all vehicles
11.The vehicle or towing vehicle and trailer must be in a legal and roadworthy condition. The trailer must not exceed the maximum towing capacity of the towing vehicle
12.The vehicle is to be kept in a safe central road position where possible
13.No dogs are allowed into the showground. You will be turned away if you have a dog present in your vehicle.

14.Cars will be required to remain in Jubilee Park until 4.30pm

I understand that the Organisers of the Gala have no liability to me for any accident, injury, damage, illness, disease or other loss occurring to me or my property. I understand that I shall be responsible to the Spennymoor Gala Committee for losses suffered by them to the extent that it arises from or is contributed to, in any way, by any act, neglect or omission by me or any person for whom I am responsible. I also understand that the Spennymoor Gala reserves the right to close or cancel any entry for whatever reason. *
