The Spennymoor Gala Committee is excited to announce that registrations for stall holders are now open for this year's Gala Parade, themed Carnival of Colour! We are on the lookout for local awesome business owners and creators who would like a stall at this years Gala. Unique fashion, accessories, jewellery, homewares, crafters and art makers…


Please note: We are unable to accept applications for car boot sales for insurance purposes.


The main event is set to take place on Saturday, 6th July. It will feature a vibrant Carnival style Parade through the heart of Spennymoor, commencing at Barnfield Road at 12:30hrs and culminating at Victoria Jubilee Park. The celebration will continue within the park until 16:30hrs.


Stall Holder Cost/Pitch Fees

A £15 minimum donation to Spennymoor Gala Committee must be paid in advance. Registered Charity tables are £7.50. Tables are required to be paid in advance via BACS or Cheque. If your application is successful, you will be contacted before the event to arrange payment.

As part of the fee you will be provided with 1 x table and 1 x chair. These will be arranged in designated areas where you will be allocated a space upon arrival. You can also use your own extra tables within your area. Gazebos are allowed and will be checked by our Safety Officer, and please ensure these are secure with guy ropes and or ground pegs.










 

Stall Holder rules and Safety Information  

  1. Spennymoor Gala Committees safety coordinator, whose duty it is to ensure that all entries are safe and reach a minimum standard. The committee have the right to refuse entry into Jubilee Park.
  2. Access to the site will be allowed from 9.00am to 10.30am through the vehicle entrance off Carr Lane (DL16 6JJ).
  3. Once in position at Jubilee Park, no vehicular movement will be permitted until 16:30 at the direction of the event staff. You will not be able to take your vehicle off the site prior to this time.
  4. Only 1 vehicle is allowed on site for each stall and will be required to be parked behind your stall for the duration.
  5. All vehicles to adhere to use hazard lights whilst moving on site and adhere to a 5-mph maximum speed limit
  6. All vendors must always adhere to the instructions of site event staff
  7. Your organisation is responsible for ensuring the safe provision of products and should act in accordance with your legal requirements, insurance policy and risk assessments
  8. No alcohol permitted on site. This includes Tobolas.
  9. No dogs allowed on site


Insurances:

All stall holders must hold valid Public Liability Insurance.

  1. Include Products Liability Cover and Employer Liability cover (if appropriate).
  2. The policy must be kept in force at all times with a reputable insurer and premium payments kept up to date.
  3. You should inform The Spennymoor Gala immediately if your policy becomes invalid, or is cancelled/terminated.
  4. The Consumer Protection Act 1998 makes the retailer of a defective product strictly liable to any person injured by it.
  5. Any firm or organisation employing people must hold Employer’s Liability Insurance to satisfy Health & Safety requirements.

 

Liability:

The Spennymoor Gala will not be held liable with stall holders:

  1. For any loss or damage arising from errors in the allocation of space, or if a stall holder encroaches on the space allocated to another.
  2. To any persons for any damage or loss to the property of any such person or for any injury, however caused, fatal or otherwise, to any such person while upon The Spennymoor Gala showground or car parks or while entering or leaving the same.
  3. For consequential loss/damage to any vendor exhibitor.

Stall Holders accept liability for:

  1. Any loss, injury or damage that may be done to, occasioned by or arising from any article or property exhibited or brought on to the showground by or for you, and you shall indemnify The Spennymoor Gala in respect of such damage or injury which may be so caused
  2. The behaviour and for any misconduct/negligence of themselves, staff or contractors, and the consequences thereof.

 










2024 Theme: Carnival of Colour

The 2024 Carnival of Colour will be a joyous celebration of togetherness, diversity and pride of our community. The grand parade will feature the vibrant and dynamic essence of colour, symbolising the beauty of togetherness and the strength found in embracing differences. By taking part you will join the celebration alongside vibrant street entertainment, performers and live music that will bring the Town of Spennymoor to life with energy and excitement. Think bright costumes, colourful props, and dazzling decorations that capture the spirit of celebration and unity.

  • The closing date for entries is Monday 10th June 2024. This date is subject to change based on interest and application volumes due to limited space.
